A Hip Hop trio formed of 1 DJ and 2 MCs, HOME MADE KAZOKU debuted in May 2004. You've probably heard their hit songs "Shonen Heart" (Eureka Seven), "Shooting Star" (Naruto) and "No Rain No Rainbow" (Naruto Shippuden). 2014 will be their 10th year anniversary, and we are excited they will be performing at the Southeast's largest anime convention for our 20th year!

Greetings friends and family of Anime Weekend Atlanta!

This year at AWA we stepped up our game and it was noticed.  We had 18,343 people descend upon the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel, Cobb Galleria Centre, and the Sheraton Suites Galleria for three incredible days of fun.

For our 20th anniversary we want to bring some jaw dropping guests and events, and it has become increasingly harder to convince our directors to live off of pocky and swag all year to personally fund the supplies necessary to run the convention.

The past administration of AWA kept admission artificially low.  On the front no one could tell what was happening to AWA but internally there was a lot of concern over the long term ability of the convention to continue running.  As an all volunteer convention we look for ways to keep the costs down and the fun up.  Because the value of the dollar and goods has shifted we too have had to adjust our pricing to stay afloat.  In the past to keep costs low for attendees, directors spent significant amounts of their own money to try and make the show better without raising costs. For example, many of the speakers we use are built by one of our admins and out of his own pocket.

The actuality of the price going up is that we are right-sizing the cost of admission to what it should be. We haven't raised the pre-reg prices from 20 dollars in nearly 10 years. Walk in prices have only gone up five dollars from 2013 and pre-registering still will save you money but will also significantly help AWA raise the funds needed to replace aging equipment and to buy the new things necessary to bring some awesome ideas to fruition at the convention for fans.   The new pricing schedule can be found on our registration page. Registering on Sunday for the following year is always the best deal ($35 for over 300 hours of programming and events). Planning for AWA 2014 has already begun and announcements will be coming soon. We hope to see you next year and can't wait to start sharing what we have planned for everyone.
