- Trying to keep up with the website is hard. Is there another way to follow the changes in Art Show?
Art Show is one of the events that takes place at Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) in the Cobb Galleria Center. This year AWA will be taking place from September 27-29th 2013.
While AWA is spread out between the Renaissance Waverly and the Cobb Galleria Center, Art Show is located in Exhibit Hall B of the Cobb Galleria Center.
There are several ways to submit your art to Art Show, including: Walk-In, Reservation of Space and Mail-in.
Yes we do but we require all art be post-marked by September 1, 2013.
We require all mail-in art be at least First Class Priority mail, Fed-Ex or UPS. Basically, it needs to have a tracking number that you need to email to the Art Show Director immediately after you ship it so we know when it arrives. Insurance isn't required but is ideal for those of you worried about anything happening to your artowrk intransit. It's recommend using some kind of reusable packing box as well as shipping material if possible. It will save you in the long run if no extra packaging has to be bought.
Either include return postage in the form of a money order, check (made out to Anime Weekend Atlanta) or pre-paid return shipping label. No matter which option you choose you should enclose the same amount that it took to ship the box to AWA. This ensures you won't be charged extra on the return postage if something happens to not sell. (If you have a really heavy package, contact the Art Show Director to work something out).
Aside from the regular Control Sheet and Bidding Sheets, it would be wise to include a legend of how you would like your art set up if you have a particular preference. If not, then your art pieces will be hung in no particular order.

Also, please keep in mind that ALL packages should be mailed by September 1. Art will not be accepted for mail-in after this date has passed, no exceptions.
Since this is the Anime Weekend Atlanta Art Show, we do ask that you keep all art somewhere in the realm of Anime, Japanese culture, or fantasy based. Fantasy is a rather new 'genre' to be added to the AWA Art Show but we have faith that our exhibitors will make us proud with their creations.
The rating for most art in Art Show is restricted to PG-13, however this year we are hoping to add an Adult Art section which will allow admittance to adults only which will host art rated R and above. Identification will be required to enter this room, so please be sure to have a government issued I.D. when attending.
Yes! Art Show holds a contest to entice our exhibitors to put their best foot forward in a friendly, professional contest which is judged by a guest judge at AWA.
Yes! Currently the winners of the contest are awarded a medal and certificate. Also, the grand prize winners will be awarded Visa Gift Cards to help further their work.
To reserve your space ahead of time, simply send in a check or money order for the amount of space you would like reserved along with a Control Sheet to:

NOTE: You don't have to list the art you're sending into Art Show when you reserve space but it is important that you fill out the Artist Information portion of the Control Sheet so we can assign you an Artist Number (or if you have sent in before, refresh your artist number).
A 4'x4' panel costs $12.00, with a limit of 4 per artist. Tables are broken into half tables for a cost of $12.00 for a 2'x3', with a limit of 4 per artist.
Please note that all panels are a 4'x4' area that is broken up over two panels. While there are 'bay' formations available (where the 4'x4' space is flat), there are 'star' formations where the two panels are angled slightly. If you have a preference, please be sure to let us know ahead of time. The At-Con Price for purchasing a panel or table will be $15.
All checks and money orders should be made payable to Anime Weekend Atlanta. Cash will only be accepted during the convention as a means of payment for space. Any check or money order made out to anything else cannot be accepted as payment.

Why yes! Yes there is. There's always the Art Show Message Boards. When we make important changes or open up new topics for discussion, here is where we will do it.
There's even the Art Show Yahoo!Group that anyone can join. When we post important changes in information we will send an email updating everyone on this list.
AWA's Art Show has it's own twitter so feel free to add us as AWAARTSHOW to your twitter feed. We'll post there when we do updates to the websites and forums, so you'll be able to know whenever we change anything!
