The Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) fashion track is now officially open for
Independent J-Fashion Designers who wish to participate in the “Indie” Portion of the
AWA Fashion Show.
The fashion show will be held on Saturday afternoon, Sept 27th. There will also be
a Japanese Brand (TBD) as part of the overall Fashion Show. This is a wonderful
opportunity to gain significant exposure for your designs because this always draws a
huge audience. Because of the new AWA Fashion programming we expect significant
attendance from ALL the SouthEast Lolita and J-Fashion communities including Georgia
as well as Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina among others.
The Fashion Programming will include J-Fashion curated panels, A Friday evening J-Fashion
event, an exclusive tea party and a fashion show featuring a prominent Japanese
brand. With enough interest, we would like to continue to give Indie designers the
opportunity to kick-off the fashion show with the Indie designer portion of the show,
The fashion track does NOT include responsibility for any Pop-up shops / Boutiques
either in Artist Alley or the Dealer's Room. However, any participating designers
are most certainly welcome to purchase space in those areas through their respective
organizers. We will also be willing to "hand-deliver" coordinates, after the fashion show,
to designated pop-up shops as per your instructions.
The AWA Fashion Track will be choosing designers based the following criteria (among others):
There will be a limit (TBD) to the number of designers we can handle due to resources
and time available So please complete your application as soon as possible.
Here is what you need to know:
In the past, models were arranged for each designer, and unfortunately, this has led to
a lot of confusion and disappointment for both designers and models. Going forward,
designers will be free to select their own models via any means they wish. You may post
a casting, select from your own friends and acquaintances, or choose from a provided
pool of models whom have applied to model through the AWA fashion track. The model
pool will provide head and body shots of each model as well as their measurements,
and will operate on a first come, first served basis. Designers will be responsible for all
communications with their models after the initial selections have been made.
Hair and makeup will be provided, if you wish. As always, all designers are welcome to
attend the show and direct their models in person if they wish.
There are 3 basic requirements for all designers:
More information will be provided once the designers have been selected.
